Function
The project director will lead a team and is accountable for the sanctioning and delivery of major capital Oil & Gas projects.
They will report directly to the MD and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company.
They will be a result oriented professional who is able to operate independently in the dynamic Oil & Gas industry both upstream and midstream.
The main objective is to ensure that meticulous attention is paid to every aspect of the project through development, permitting, execution, completion/hand over and closeout.
Role
The project director is accountable for the following areas of responsibility -
Obtaining all necessary permits to commence the construction of the project.
Delivery of the project within budget and on schedule
Lead the project team and communicate overall project performance to the Management Team.
Business development and economics
Stakeholder communication
Develop and maintain the project organisation
Technical design specification & verification
Contracting and procurement strategy
Financial planning, cost control, budget preparation, cost estimate and project schedule.
Risk management, project control and legal and corporate compliance.
HSSE
The project director is accountable that -
All work in the team is carried out to the clients HSSE policy
The design of plant and machinery is the Best Available Technology and complies with both the clients, local and international guidelines.
All work is in accordance to all laws and regulations
Attend and contribute to safety and toolbox meetings
Support incident research.
Qualifications and skills
MSc in Mechanical, Civil or Petroleum Engineering
Experience in Technical, Business, Commercial, Project Management in leading large and complex projects
Strong technical background
Leader
Fluent in both Dutch and English
Team motivator
Able to work under pressure
Experience with underground gas storage is an advantage
Strong analytical skills.
