Job Description

Project Controls Specialist


  Critical Path Schedule development and maintenance for selected projects and programs.


  Lead Project Estimating function, Budget development and maintenance.


  Accurate cost tracking and control on a per project basis.  Forecasting project budgets.


  Earned value reporting for both cost control and schedule controls


  Change Order Management to control and document cost and schedule scope change impact to projects.


  Insuring critical purchase orders are placed in time to meet project requirements


   Weekly project achievement reporting for critical projects


   Dependency management


   Organizationally: Starting projects on time to meet required completion dates


   Within individual projects making sure critical dependencies are met and managed.


   Aligning small projects with business needs. Development and maintenance of a Project Opportunities. 


 


Core Competencies



  • Ability to develop and manage Critical Path Schedule for Capital projects. Use MS Project to Resource load these projects and plan, track and control project cost within MS Project 2007 software. Ability to forecast projects cost based on the above. Familiar with Change Order Management.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects dependencies with regard to task work

  • Estimate the Total Installed Cost of capital projects by use of industry software (Kbase or Icarus preferred) and techniques. Must be familiar with unit rates, material and equipment pricing, labor pricing and other estimate components and techniques.

  • Familiar with concept of Earned Value, Cost Performance Index and Schedule Performance Indexing for project

  • Ability to identify Resources required in order to properly staff a capital project.

  • Understand the overall basic terminology of a project's principle practices and concepts, project cost forecasting and budgets
    Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present projects and results to business leaders and senior management

  • Familiar with Contract Administration techniques

  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules


 


Experience with Above


5 Years Minimum


8 Years Preferred.
