Job Title: Project Accountant Location: Aberdeen Rate/Salary: neg Duration: Staff The Company: My Client is an international oil and gas operator with significant exploration and production business in the UK. Currently looking for a Project Accountant. The Role: It is the responsibility of the Project Accountant to provide a robust control framework. The role is seen as crucial to provide challenge to project teams on cost monitoring of actual out-turn against Authorisation for Expenditure (AFE), budget and forecasting assumptions. The role has a key interface with the project budgetholder and / or the Project Cost Engineer (depending on the materiality of the project) with respect to detailed cost models and business project performance reporting. Specific accountabilities are: Cost Control & Approvals. The Project Accountant is expected to provide a key interface between the Projects BDU and Operate BDU Finance Teams. Analyse timewriting reports - challenge and review billable. Leadership of the AFE process in accordance with the AFE Standard. Investments reporting. Provision of project cost commentaries, compilation of the monthly Project Tracking Report. Provision of actualised data on project spend to Project Services team. Provide monthly Projects cost report. Project Close-Out and Invoicing. Provide AFE coding for all project invoices. Maintain inter-company transfers register and seek approval before accepting. Essential Skills/Qualifications - International Financial Reporting Standards applicable to the Oil and Gas. As a qualified accountant, and a strong working knowledge of SAP, BW, BI, Excel & PowerPoint.
