Our Client has a vacancy for a Project Accountant. This is a contract position based in Uxbridge starting 1st April 2010.
As Project Accountant you will be responsible for the provision of Financial Support to the Exploration and Subsurface Teams and for ensuring a financially controlled environment.
Responsibilities of the team include:
Provide Financial Support to the Exploration & Subsurface Teams including Budgets AFEs Cost Tracking Accruals Reporting and Billings.
Provide cover for other Project Accountants.
Assist the management of the capital process by focussing on Project Closures across the group.
Provide support as directed by the Project Accounting Lead.
Creation and issuing of budgets for Licences managed by the Exploration teams ensuring that these budgets are aligned with the Corporate budgets and responsible for monitoring/reporting on any differences that may arise.
Creation approval revision and closure of PAFs and AFEs associated with the particular licences.
Accounting for Non-Operated licences monitoring costs and securing suitable approvals and timely settlement of partner billings.
Issuance of periodic partner budget variance reports and providing continuous partner liaison to ensure and maintain good working relations.
Issuing timely and accurate billings and ensuring timely receipt of partner funds where applicable.
Will be an opportunity to develop the use of systems to automate and improve for the processes and reports in this area.
Liaise with the other teams within Operations Accounting to ensure accounting entries emanating from the management of Materials Logistics & Drilling are accurately reflected in the ledger & on partner billings.
Develop strong working relationship with all members of the Finance team.
Qualifications and experience required:
Part or fully Qualified Accountant ACCA or CIMA.
Good understanding of SAP functions Joint Venture module in particular and a proven track record of North Sea Oil industry experience.
Ideally experienced in SAP Project Systems PS Module.
Ability to analyse investigate problem-solve and report accurately against tight deadlines.
A highly disciplined and organised individual who understands the importance of structure process and record-keeping.
A motivated self-starter with good interpersonal skills who is comfortable taking the lead on initiatives and seeing them through to resolution.
Aptitude to translate business and operational requirements into finance processes and associated integration points and respond in a time efficient manner.
