Our Client has a vacancy for a Principal Technical Safety Engineer, based in Aberdeen.  This is a contract position.

As Principal Technical Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for managing safety related input to design projects including but not limited to process hazard reviews, hazard consequence modelling, process hazard analyses, risk assessment studies, Safety Integrity Level determinations, and management of changes as related to safety.

Skills/Qualifications required:
HAZOP/HAZID arrangement, participation & chairing (if required), ALARP demonstrations, QRA coordination; AFP/PFP development, Hazardous area classification.
Ability to perform updates for operational safety case and support/defend them to client and regulatory bodies.
Same ability required for combined operations safety case etc.
Responsible for attracting and managing Environmental Engineering resource as required.
Ability to plan and cost small to large project safety and environmental engineering scopes, including development of cost estimates Able to scope work for, and manage external consultancies.
Able to act as a liaison point for project teams, clients and external regulatory bodies.

Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to manage technical meetings, liaise/feedback with other disciplines, project management, client and regulatory authorities, provide advice on various technical safety and environmental engineering subjects.
Able to manage and develop junior reporting personnel.

Competencies:
Ability to work autonomously.

Educational Attainments:
MSc in Safety Engineering (or related subject).
