Education & Qualifications:
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
Skilled in the use of AutoCAD or Microstation
BOSIET Offshore survival certification
Current offshore medical certificate
Experience:
Skilled in offshore projects or have Knowledge offshore plus petrochemical experience
Experience of checking procedures.
Some supervisory experience.
Thorough knowledge of engineering materials used within discipline.
Knowledgeable in the requirements and needs of other disciplines
Skilled in the application of discipline design principles
Personal Skills:
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications
Proficient in the use of relevant CAD software
Basic Purpose of Job:
Support the Lead Designer or Engineer in department activities.
Produce engineering deliverables for inclusion in workpacks.
Supervise discipline design project or asset team.
Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
Supervision of assigned discipline CAD and design personnel.
Give technical direction and guidance to CAD and design personnel.
Main Duties:
Prepare project drawings and documents using the appropriate software.
Be proficient in the use of CAD software.
Check designs and drawings of design team for accuracy and conformance to technical specifications and procedures.
Ensure Document Management System is maintained as per procedures.
Conduct site surveys and reports.
Participate in tuition and guidance of trainee designers.
Ensure deliverables are completed within budget and time schedule.
Be conversant with and ensure compliance with current CAD draughting standards and procedures.
Participate in the development of CAD systems
Keep abreast of new developments and review new and improved types of materials and equipment.
Responsible for efficient running and discipline of design team.
Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all design work produced by their team.
Report progress to Lead Designer / Engineer as appropriate.
Carry out regular reviews of manning levels.
Prepare and review work estimates.
Participate in discussions with clients and visit jobsite as necessary.
Carry out regular reviews of assigned personnel, proposing any necessary action which should be taken such as disciplinary or promotion where appropriate.
Conduct staff Personal Development Review (PDR)
Contribute to new / revised procedures.
Attend meetings with Chief Designer when requested.
Deputise for Lead Designer if required
