Position: Principal Safety Engineer
Location: Aberdeen (Possible Travel)
Start: ASAP

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Due to expanding business our client is now looking to recruit two Principal level Safety Engineers for new & ongoing projects.
You will have good background in an Oil & Gas related safety engineering role, preferably with a high risk industrial context.
You must possess an engineering or scientific honours degree. Potential candidates should have proven experience in a number of the following attributes:
Involvement in the preparation of offshore Safety Cases and / or COMAH Safety Reports and their supporting Hazard, risk and consequence assessments;
Experienced in the application of a wide variety of risk management tools and techniques;
Formal training and experience in chairing HAZOPs, HAZIDs, SIL / IPF
Identification of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and development of Performance Standards;
Understanding and application of the principles of ALARP;
Safety Management System development experience;
Effective communication, organisational and leadership skills;
Proven track record of successful project management;
Understand Legislation Drivers.
In addition to the above, the following attributes are desirable:
Chartered Engineer and / or Safety Professional;
Exposure to the preparation of business proposals;
Experienced in the mentoring, coaching and development of Junior Engineers;
Organising engineering team workloads.
