Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Supervise and Lead a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering work for large sized projects assuming entire responsibility for conceptual and detailed design. Provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted man-hour and project schedules.

May be required to serve as a technical specialist or as a Subject Matter Expert.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents.

· Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of the Technical Document Register.

· Verify and conceptualise the most optimum work routes.

· Coordinate with projects/planning on project time schedules.

· Develop manpower charts and schedules.

· Organise the preparation of equipment and materials specifications and data sheets, Construction/Control System-related deliverables.

· Organise inputs for the preparation of plot plans and issue of engineering drawings/technical documents for Inter Discipline checks (IDCs).

· Direct the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct and provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE). Supervise the review of design calculations, ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and are within budgeted costs.

· Administer the preparation of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.

· Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff progress meetings.

· Direct and monitor Material Take Off (MTO) activities.

· Participate in HAZOP meeting with clients and representatives of other engineering disciplines.

· Interface and provide clarification, guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers, provide startup assistance as required.

· Ensure strict compliance with Companys ISO Quality procedures.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements

· 4-yr Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation (or Electrical) Engineering

· Minimum of 18 years of related petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy organisations in the EPC or the Oil and Gas Industry

· Professional Engineer registration may be required

· Ensures and facilitates an awareness of HSSE in all design and activities across the discipline.

· Promotes Quality Control throughout their team ensuring that their team works within the Quality Management System and participates in regular quality audits.

· Analyses exposure to risk and quantifies potential for losses, applying logical solutions for managing the risks taken through composition and implementation of contingency plans.

· Familiar with Microsoft Office applications as required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
