Principal Engineer - Telecommunications job in Saudi Arabia
The client
Our client is a leading international contractor to the Oil & Gas production and processing industry, providing facilities to many of the worlds leading integrated, independent and national Oil & Gas companies.
The role
You will motivate and lead a team of telecom engineers and designers under your supervision for carrying out telecom package detailed engineering work in large sized Oil & Gas EPC projects assuming entire responsibility from conceptual to detailed design. You will prepare and compile necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with Client specifications / engineering data sheets and standards in the premise of budgeted man-hour and project schedules. You will review alternative methods and solutions for complex telecom engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical option to achieve the design objectives and international standards e.g. ITU / IEEE / IEC etc. Able to serve as a ‘Technical Specialist’ as needed.
The candidate
To be considered for this role, it is expected that you will have following education/experience:
Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering
Minimum of 15 years of related petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy organisations in the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry
Professional Engineer registration may be required
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications as required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
Excellent knowledge of Telephony, Data Networking, Optical Transmission and Radio Communication System design. Also has experience on plant security systems like CCTV, PAGA, Access Controls, GPS based applications. Innovatively applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses engineering studies and reports within the discipline e.g. Optical / Radio signal path and Acoustic coverage.
