Job Description


Main dutues:

A Undertake specific tasks/area of work as defined by the Cost Estimating Manager and Consultancy Group Manager on Consultancy type projects or to the Lead Cost Estimator on larger task force type projects including preparing the cost estimate for major equipment bulk materials and other costing items such as Electrical Switchgear SCADA Systems Pipelines etc.

B Analyse cost estimating data by identifying the trends for benchmarking cost estimates.

C Maintain Cost Estimating Databases up to date and act as the point of contact within the Woking Office for specifically Offshore cost estimating data and norms.

D On larger projects act as technically responsible for a specific area of work and supervise the preparation of specific deliverables.

E Identify and resolve discrepancies and deviations from original proposal/contract to Lead Cost Estimator on a larger project. Support discipline input to regular Project reporting.

F Review and check work carried out by other Cost Estimators as delegated by the Cost Estimating Manager Consultancy Manager or Lead Cost Estimator on a larger project.

G Ensure compliance with ISO Quality procedures Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures.

H Contribute to training and development of junior staff including identifying employee strengths and weaknesses and recommend training and development requirements.

Interface with other disciplines as necessary to ensure representative cost estimates. Ensure that other disciplines provide information which is congruent with the class of estimate accuracy required.

· Exposure to Consultancy FEED/ Detailed Design and EPC projects.

· Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.

· Knowledge of external factors such as regulations price trends and exchange rates.

· Knowledge of how Primavera & Microsoft Projects integrates into cost estimating.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and cost estimating software such as Questor and BET.

· Good coordination monitoring and supervisory skills.

· Good Communication skills.

· Organisational skills.
