Qualifications/ Training Essential:
Technical Degree / HNC or Equivalent.
Experience
Essential:
Technical Degree / HNC or Equivalent.
8 - 10 Years in the Engineering Construction Industry.
Supervision of planning personnel.
Significant portion of the above to have been within planning.
Must have a sensible, logical approach to Planning needs and be able, at all times, to keep the basic objectives in sight.
Good presentation skills.
Must have a pleasing personality, smart appearance and be able to communicate with all levels up to top management.
Computer literate (MS Office components)
Overview of currently available planning software.
Significant degree of expertise of current corporate planning software.
Good working knowledge of current corporate risk management software.
Significant degree of expertise of current corporate project management systems and software.
Purpose/ Role
Responsible for the overall planning, development and monitoring of a medium sized project, or a section of a major project.
To establish and maintain the project planning system and procedures.
Analyse schedule data and advise the lead planner of potential delays.
Continual review and development of procedures and common support processes resulting in improved business effectiveness.
Ensure the requisite quality of data is maintained.
Develop and ensure compliance with the work breakdown structure and coding.
Oversee the planning element of the change control procedure.
Production of what if scenarios and plans to suit both client and contractor requirements.
Production of risk analysis data if required by the project.
Mentoring and development of planning personnel, to raise their competence, awareness, knowledge and techniques required in the execution of planning functions
To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents in relation to the the Planning function.
To promote HS&E responsibility within the team.
