Job Description

This company has an enviable track record in implementing projects. They are currently at the sharp edge of delivering engineering solutions on Australiaâs and South East Asiaâs largest LNG and oil developments. As part of their growth an opportunity has arisen for a planner to join an operational team on the flagship PNG LNG Project.

The purpose of this role is to assist in the establishment of the project plans progress measurement details scheduling and reports in accordance with the requirements of the contract and the criteria contained in the Schedule Development and Control Plan.

This role is ideal for civil engineers with an experience level of 3 to 7 years in the heavy civil capacity on road and bridge projects.

  • This role reports to the Lead Planner
  • Responsibilities

  • Support the lead planner to gather the project requirements and to develop the Baseline plans for all work scope elements on the project
  • Liaise with and obtain planning information from Lead Estimators Engineers Procurement and Construction personnel
  • Assist the lead planner to establish work priorities and defining manpower and other resource requirements to ensure overall schedule objectives are achieved Ensure that appropriate planning techniques and scheduling systems meet the projects needs
  • Assist the Lead Planner to create Cost and Cashflow reports Support the collection and organisation of audit information
  • Assist the Planners & Schedulers to perform âWhat ifâ scenario schedules to propose the best options in executing the project
  • Assist in the coordination of all planning and scheduling activities and the Weekly Bi Monthly and Monthly Reporting deliverables
  • Interface with vendors sub contractors company procurement and other project controls staff for management of planning function in accordance with established procedures
  • Solid understanding of the processes and planning requirements from concept feasibility design and procurement through to and including the construction phase of the project
  • Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as Planner
  • At least 10 years experience in the construction industry
  • Certifications in construction field highly desirable
  • Solid comprehension of planning packages Suretrak or Primavera
  • Project experience on civil and/or architectural infrastructure with a focus on Heavy civil works roads and bridges highly desirable
