The job holder must have:
Mechanical and Piping Engineering degree or equivalent
Not less than 10 years of working experience in oil & gas industry, both offshore and onshore plus experience in project engineering
Good experience in Design development, Design Codes and International Standards applicable to Mechanical and Piping design include Piping stress analysis
Prior experience in authoring and development of design specifications and standards in mechanical and piping
Purpose:
To guide the relevant engineers assigned in various departments within the Projects & Operations Groups and support the Technical activities in the fields of study, design, construction and maintenance of systems and facilities for the production and operation of the plants. The position holder will also be responsible in terms of development and guidance for the Corporate Standards, Philosophies, Specification and Data Sheets of the discipline of piping.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
The job holder is responsible for:
Ensuring definition, dissemination and update of Piping Discipline Philosophies, and standards for design, construction and optimisation of the production facilities; promoting, for each pertinent field, the standardisation, coding and dissemination of the best operative methods and the definition of best practices and performance indicators on the piping discipline.
Defining the guidelines for International Standards as well local Standards & Regulations and ensure compliance for Piping Discipline in base line Philosophies and Specifications.
Capitalizing the experience and the company know-how in the fields of study, design, construction and maintenance of systems and facilities for the production and operation of the plants
Supporting the coordination of the activities of technical audit and internal and external benchmarking, the qualification of the strategic suppliers, the structuring and dissemination of feedback on the piping discipline in terms of guidance on the resolution of issues raised and close out..
Providing technical support and guidance to project and discipline engineers during the revision process /approval of key documents like: Basis Design, Design Criteria, General Philosophies, Plot Plans, PFD and be involved in HAZID. HAZOP, QRA, 3D Model Review.
Endorsing and providing technical guidance to deviations and non-conformities from Technical Standards as proposed by Projects Engineering Support Groups in piping discipline;
Monitoring services and specialised studies for the development of the projects, as required by the projects to ensure compliance with company standards for the specific "discipline"
Ensuring constant liaison with the competent piping specialist(s) as well as other venture agents (as appropriate) for all the technical aspects and technical benchmarking engineering activities.
Providing Technical Authority Role for Experimental Programme, Full Field Development and future phases of Kashagan Project within roles and responsibilities.
HSE Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a positive and pro-active commitment to HSE through the personal application of safety critical behaviors;
Compliance with Republic of Kazakhstan Statutory HSE Regulations, Codes and Standards;
Applying HSE Policies & Management System Requirements;
Supporting/ Participating in Emergency Drills and Exercises as required;
Reporting all Accidents/ Incidents and Unsafe Acts/ Conditions in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience:
The job holder must have :
Mechanical and Piping Engineering degree.
Experience in Project Engineering in a major oil and gas company.
Not less than 10 years of working experience in oil & gas industry, both offshore and onshore.
Good experience in Design development, Design Code sand International Standards applicable to Mechanical and Piping design include Piping stress analysis
Not less than 3 years of experience of working with contractors and supervising the contractors.
Working experience in a prior similar role is highly recommended;
Prior experience in Authoring and Development of design specifications and standards in mechanical and piping.

The job holder must have proven:
Experience in coordination and follow up of Scope of Work to be performed by external Contractors.
Strong technical experience relevant to the specified discipline in major oil & gas projects
Ability to read, understand, interpret and write reports and documentation.
Good communication skills at all levels.
Experience of working in multi-national environment.
Working Conditions:
Based in London with frequent trips to other facilities.
