Our client is looking to recruit a Piping Engineer Technical Authority, for a residential contract in London.
Purpose:
To guide the relevant engineers assigned in various departments within the Projects & Operations Groups and support the Technical activities in the fields of study, design, construction and maintenance of systems and facilities for the production and operation of the plants. The position holder will also be responsible in terms of development and guidance for the Corporate Standards, Philosophies, Specification and Data Sheets of the discipline of piping.
Day day activities include
· Provide Client Technical Authority role for the Project through FEED, Detail Design, Procurement and Construction
· Represent clients Technical Authority at HAZID, HAZOP, and 3D model reviews
Providing technical support and guidance to client project and discipline engineers in the preparation and revision of key documents eg : Basis of Design, Design Criteria, Design Philosophies, Plot Plans, PFD
· Preparation of lists of appropriate piping International Standards and Codes for inclusion in Contractor base line philosophies and project specific specifications
· Review and approval of Contractors project specific piping specifications
· Review and approval of Contractors piping stress analyses
· Review of Contractors piping design drawings
· Assessment and technical analysis of design deviations to standards and
specifications and preparation of subsequent Technical Reports
· Assessment and technical analysis of Construction Site concession requests and preparation of subsequent Technical Reports
· Assessment and technical analysis of Vendor non-conformance reports and preparation of subsequent Technical Reports
· Preparation of Company corporate piping specifications:
- manual valves
- pipe, fittings, flanges for sour service
- HDPE pipe
- galvanizing, painting , coating
Additionally they must
· Be conversant with main Piping Codes eg ASME B31.3
· Have experience in Pipe Stress Analysis
· Have strong piping engineering experience covering piping layout, piping components, valves, pipe supports
· Have a good understanding of oil & gas piping materials and impact of sour gas environment
Minimum Pre selection Requirements:
The job holder must have:
· Mechanical and Piping Engineering degree or equivalent
· Not less than 10 years of working experience in oil & gas industry, both offshore and onshore plus experience in project engineering
· Good experience in Design development, Design Codes and International Standards applicable to Mechanical and Piping design include Piping stress analysis
· Prior experience in authoring and development of design specifications and standards in mechanical and piping
