Our principle, a leading oil and gas operator in the State of Qatar, is having immediate requirement for:
POLICY SPECIALIST
Direct Supervisor: Compensation & Benefits Head
Contract Duration: INDEFINITE
Location: Qatar
Start Date: ASAP
Job Purpose:
Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as the focal point for all HR policy issues and concerns
Maintains knowledge of all company HR policies and procedures
Identifies the need for new policies and recommends changes to existing policies and provides continuous review process of HR policies and procedures
Reviews, revises, develops and implements new and existing HR policies. Includes extensive updating and rewriting of policies and related Agreements.
Advises Line Managers and employees on the interpretation of HR policies and policy issues
Conducts studies on local, regional and global markets on policy issues and best HR practices
Coordinates with sector companies on major policy changes to maintain Companys competitiveness
Audits HR policies and procedures and monitors its application to ensure consistent implementation
Conducts policy awareness programs
Job Complexity
Works according to established HR policies and procedures but is required to show high level of initiative and flexibility in view of emerging trends and practices in the labor market
Position holder deals with a diverse and multi-cultural workforce requiring receptiveness, understanding and good public relations
Frequently deals with Line Managers and staff on policy issues that necessitate constant building of effective working relations with employees at all levels
Networking abilities necessary in obtaining relevant and up-to-date HR practices from sector industry companies
Presentation skills essential in seeking consensus from peers and Management approvals
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Law
8 years HR experience in the oil and gas sector with at least 5 years in policy development
Para legal work experience preferred
Excellent spoken English
An extremely high level of written English with the ability to write clear, concise and unambiguous policy documents
Excellent computer literacy involving the use of MS Office Application (Word, PowerPoint)
