Our Client has a vacancy for a Over Head Lines Design Engineer.  This is a permanent position, based in Horsham/Leicester, starting in May 2010.

As Over Head Lines Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
Production and checking of detailed drawings for the OHL designs.
Preparation, checking and submission of DID and CTQ's.
Production and checking of all design tender information prior to submission.
Providing programme updates to the Principal OHL Designer/Engineer for the duration of the project life.
Review of method statements/risk assessment and the production, checking of CDS documents in conjunction with the Principal OHL Designer/Engineer.
Development of new industry software.
Enhancement of trainee engineers and technicians through mentoring.

Qualifications and experience required:
Minimum HNC (or equivalent).
Experience in the OHL Transmission industry.
Must have a basic understanding of the latest OHL design practices and standards.
Must have knowledge of CAD software systems.
Must have a basic understanding of site practices, which should include foundation setting out/construction, structure assembly/erection, conductor erection and temporary works.
