Job Description

Qualifications/Training Essential:

UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject

Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution

Desirable:

Post graduate management qualification

Essential:

Professional engineer with substantial experience and expertise in upstream Oil & Gas sector offshore (although large onshore project experience may also be suitable)

Robust knowledge of engineering design integrity/technical assurance activities

Experienced in project engineering of multidiscipline engineering teams

Robust client management skills

Knowledge of principal multi-discipline codes of practice and standards

Sound knowledge of statutory documentation relating to engineering

Solid grasp of multi-discipline engineering practices and techniques

Experienced in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting of multi-discipline projects

Experienced in commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of multi-discipline projects and engineering activities

Experienced in leadership, control and supervision of a multi-discipline engineering team

Solid grasp of quality control / safety / environmental strategies and objectives
To provide front end conceptual engineering input to assist operations & maintenance with identifying and proposing solutions to production bottlenecks, poorly performing equipment. Identification and mitigation of future production impact due to legislation changes. To ensure that platform integrity through having a robust safety case and by ensuring the status of safety critical elements is such that they meet the defined performance standards.

To provide leadership and management of engineering operational Technical Authorities charged with maintain the integrity of the asset, and provide advice to operators and management on risks to production, safety and environment.

To provide front end Engineering input

To ensure technical integrity of the facility

To maintain a motivated engineering team

Screening of change proposals

Production of order of magnitude engineering estimates

Managing the facilities engineering team

Ensure integrity of the asset and communicate opportunities and threats regarding that integrity at the appropriate levels within the organisation
