Operations Planning Expert Engineer - Power - Kuwait

With demand in the Power Networks sector continually growing we are looking to appoint an Operations Planning Expert Engineer for their Kuwait office.

To be successful in this role you will be a degree qualified engineer with a minimum 15 years experience in Thermal Generating Plants with particular knowledge of desalination plants, protection systems and power transmission and distribution systems and power systems Interconnection.

You will have worked with latest available application programs and software and should be able to interpret the results and instruct appropriate actions to be taken by the engineers. Within this role you will responsible for coordinating and according approval to the scheduled annual maintenance programs, planning -short, medium and long term power generation and transmission resources, load forecast in the short, medium and long term and planning the load flow according to availability. Checking, compilation and preparation of all documents pertaining to system operational statistics will also remain a key responsibility.

You will also be required to analyze abnormal reports/post mortem reports and make recommendations to avoid recurrence of the abnormal incidents.

As an Expert you will have good communication skills to liaise with the Engineering staff and the other departments of the Ministry of Electricity and Water.

Your success within this role will be measured on your performance through several factors, firstly successful completion of the project, secondly ensuring that all outcomes have been achieved that were agreed by the client and the project teams and thirdly, building successful and sustainable relationships between you and the client organization.

ESSENTIAL:
- Minimum 15 years experience within Electrical Engineering, with 10 years in the specific field
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Real Time, Extended Real Time and Off Line software programmes

DESIRABLE:
- Previous work experience in the Middle East would be an advantage

EDUCATION:
- B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or similar
