OFFSHORE DRILLING: Chief Electronic Technician (ET)


Swift Worldwide Resources is seeking a Chief ET with 5th generation equipment knowledge, for our client an international drilling company with major projects in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). Competitive salary and great benefits are offered.


 Duties Include:



  • Oversee all onboard electronic systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards

  • Ensure equipment and systems meet regulatory requirements

  • Member of the vessels Emergency Management Team

  • Provides General Management support in regards to financial, operational and vessel personnel

  • Coordinates and implements drills and periodic testing of equipment as required

  • Performs all preventative maintenance

  • Maintains Records of readings and testings

  • Ensure the roles, responsibilities, authorities, accountabilities, and performance measures of Operations Department of the operations staff


  Qualifications Required:



  •  3 to 5 years of experience on deepwater automated rigs.

  •  Strong experience on Cyber drilling equipment

  •  Familiar with the function of the Cyber base system server functions.

  •  Strong experience on HV equipment maintenance

  •  Strong experience on VFD Drives and Hazardous area equipment protection

  • 5 years experience as an electronic technician in deepwater drilling operations

  • 5th generation knowledge, New Build Drillships

  • Supervisory experience

  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

  • Experience with both digital and analog electronic systems

  • Bi-lingual is preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent
