OFFSHORE DRILLING: Chief Electrician

Swift Worldwide Resources is seeking a Chief Electrician with 5^th generation equipment knowledge, for our client an international drilling company with major projects in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). Competitive salary and great benefits are offered. 

Duties Include:

The Chief Electrician oversees maintenance of all onboard electrical systems, including ship's service and electrical power generation, controls and distribution for drilling equipment and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as company standards.

• Advanced safety knowledge


• Electrical equipment maintenance and repair knowledge


• Equipment evaluation and testing knowledge


• Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Systems (PMS)


• Supervisory/leadership knowledge


• Operate, maintain and repair power generation and distribution equipment, i.e. generators and engine controls, SCRs, switchgears, transformers, et cetera.

  Qualifications Required:

• 3 to 5 years of experience on deepwater automated rigs.


• Strong experience on Cyber drilling equipment


• Familiar with the function of the Cyber base system server functions.


• Strong experience on HV equipment maintenance


• Strong experience on VFD Drives and Hazardous area equipment protection


• Experience with both digital and analog electronic systems


• Bi-lingual is preferred


• High school diploma or equivalent
