Job Description
Our client requires a qualified accountant with previous experience working within a finance function, ideally experienced in presenting financial reporting data and capable of drilling down to the critical points for a management or non-finance audience. A sound knowledge of oil & gas accounting, technical accounting and International Financial Reporting Standards applicable to the Oil and Gas industry.
Duties are to include, but not restricted to:
* Review and challenge operators' expenditure forecasts on a monthly basis
* Process production costs, tariff, and capex entries for the month end close.
* Prepare monthly commentaries on volumes, production costs and investments.
* Provide financial information to Non-operated Asset Managers as required.
* Review and approve payment of Non-operator Joint Venture (NOJV) invoices in a timely manner. Ensure all spend is within the approved AFE value.
* Represent the client at Finance Committee meetings as required.
* Review and sign off AFE's.
* Set up internal orders/WBS project coding when necessary.
* Complete quarterly risk and opportunities pack.
* Quarterly AUC transfers.
* Populate Supp 13 template on a quarterly basis.
* Complete quarterly Abandonment template with well costs and abandonment dates.
* Completion of Quarterly Actuals Reporting Packs.
* Update forecasts based on latest information received from the operator - input to the forecasting system and complete all commentary packs.
* Liaise with Reservoir Engineers to ensure all reserves and production are in line with capital expenditure.
* Co-ordinate the annual budget and planning process for the non-operated asset.
* Input of business plan into the budgeting system.
* Liaise with internal auditors on any audits they are carrying out on the operator.
* Provide financial input into investment papers required for Regional and Group Investment Committee approval.
* Ad-hoc requests as required.
The Candidate requirements:
A professional Accountancy qualification
SAP experience
Focussed on performance
Similar experience in a previous role preferred
