Mud Engineer job in Oman
My client is an international independent oil and gas services company with a main focus on exploration field development and offshore operations. They are currently looking for a Mud Engineer for their successful operations in Oman.
Responsibilities:
In short all fluids-related activities chemicals management mud laboratory operations and fluids/chemicals waste generation/minimisation/management all fall under the duties of the mud engineer.
On the rig site/well site fluids are typically: drilling fluids; completion fluids; cementing; stimulation; and the mud engineer will ensure that all relevant programmes are followed explicitly and identify any associated problems and notify the responsible chemist to enable corrective action to be taken where necessary.
Specifically the main duties are the following:
direct and supervise the mixing and preparation of the fluids at the rig site and when necessary assist with the handling and chemical additions.
perform all necessary laboratory tests and record all fluids parameters
supervise the rig mud testers and other crew members as required involved in the fluids process streams.
manage the chemical stocks on the rig site effectively and efficiently to ensure continuity of supply and minimal waste.
evaluate the mud and solids control program and recommend ways & means to minimise use of consumables e.g. shaker screens etc.
initiate and supervise the cleaning and replacing of shale shaker screens desander/desilter cones
ensure that all safety equipment eye wash station showers etc on the mud tanks are in good working order
And other required by the employer
It is a long term opportunity for approx 3 years. The rotation is 5:3 weeks.
