Job Description
Our client a leader in the oil and gas industry is currently looking for a Marine Control Room Technician. The position will be based residentially in Singapore and the length of contract will be until the end of March 2011 followed by three years offshore in Angola. Successful candidates will have:

ÃÂÂExtensive knowledge of Safe systems of Work including permit to work.
ÃÂÂKnowledge or risk assessment process.
ÃÂÂExtensive knowledge of Marine Systems and Shipping.
ÃÂÂExperience on trading oil tankers in a deck officer or similar role.
ÃÂÂProven coaching skills with a track record of developing technicians.
ÃÂÂCertificate of Competency in either ballast operations or marine engineering.
ÃÂÂExperience in cargo and deck operations.
ÃÂÂ7 years experience in the marine industry and in a relevant role.

Main responsibilities:

ÃÂÂResponsible for operating of all marine equipment in order to safely maximise production from the associated fields. In particular the loading storage and offloading of the stabilised crude oil to the trading tankers.
ÃÂÂTake responsibility as a role model for Health safety and Environmental commitments.
ÃÂÂCentral Control Room point of contact for the safe operation of all marine equipment.
ÃÂÂActively manage the development and competency sign off of the Angolan technicians.
ÃÂÂLiaise with offshore support vendors to deliver the necessary equipment availability and performance.
ÃÂÂLead daily Control room related marine activities ensuring operational integrity is maintained and delivery of the facilities is optimized.
ÃÂÂManage all export operations on behalf of the marine Supervisor and report any deviations from loading/export plan.
ÃÂÂLiaise where necessary with members of the onshore support team and vendors in the resolution of issues / problems.
ÃÂÂWork with the marine supervisor terminal superintendent and governments officials to manage cargo offloading operations.
ÃÂÂOffshore focal point for marine control room operations and performance efficiency.
Qualifications
Direct Experience or equivalent
