Job Description

Our Client has a vacancy for a Marine Control Room Operator based in Angola / Singapore. This is a contract position of 3 years duration.


Key accountabilities
Responsible for operating of all marine equipment in order to safely maximise production from the associated fields. In particular the loading storage and offloading of the stabilised crude oil to the trading tankers.
Take responsibility as a role model for Health safety and Environmental commitments.
Central Control Room point of contact for the safe operation of all marine equipment.
Actively manage the development and competency sign off of the Angolan technicians.
Liaise with offshore support vendors to deliver the necessary equipment availability and performance.
Lead daily Control room related marine activities ensuring operational integrity is maintained and delivery of the facilities is optimized.
Manage all export operations on behalf of the marine Supervisor and report any deviations from loading/export plan.
Liaise where necessary with members of the onshore support team and vendors in the resolution of issues / problems.
Work with the marine supervisor terminal superintendent and governments officials to manage cargo offloading operations.
Offshore focal point for marine control room operations and performance efficiency.


Essential criteria & qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of Safe systems of Work including permit to work.
Knowledge or risk assessment process.
Extensive knowledge of Marine Systems and Shipping.
Experience on trading oil tankers in a deck officer or similar role.
Proven coaching skills with a track record of developing technicians.
Certificate of Competency in either ballast operations or marine engineering.
Experience in cargo and deck operations.
Extensive experience in the marine industry and in a relevant role.


Desirable criteria & qualifications:
Offshore Operations on a Floating Production Storage & offloading installation inclusive of tandem mooring.
Experience in working with different cultures.
Experience of major project commissioning.
Experience of major project operational readiness.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills required to support the management of incidents and emergencies.
