Job Description
I have been retained by a client based in Western Europe. The company have asked me to identify a Lead Reservoir Engineer to join their new ventures department.
The role is a lead position, this dictates that the client are looking for a solid reservoir engineer with a considerable amount of post graduation experience, this experience will have been gained in an operator only environment. In order to really match the expectations of the client it would be beneficial to have garnered this experience in a number of international postings.
To really excel in this position the company are looking for people who find that the work they do is the most important thing, the company have a structure that supports a meritocracy in it's purest form, if you have the ability and desire then you will be allocated a project, the determining factor regarding this is whether or not you are the right person to perform the task.
When it comes to the skills required the company are very interested in people with a very rounded background, this isn't a role for a "simulation jockey" or a pure operational Reservoir Engineer, to be ideally suited to this you will have worked in integrated subsurface teams knitting together the most comprehensive field development plans possible, this will have include the very early phase evaluation going as far a data room participation, economic evaluation etc.
A major part of this requirement is that the incumbent has the experience and gravitas to represent and champion their work in peer reviews and partner meetings, a person who is comfortable challenging the data given by colleagues from other disciplines whilst conversely having their own work challenged will be of particular interest.
Familiarity with EOR, Waterflood and CO2 will help a candidate stand out and the client also value candidate who are comfortable with uncertainty analysis, probabilistic modelling and stochastic modelling.
This role is a pivotal hire for the client and as such they are offering an ex-patriate package.
Please feel free to call me to discuss this opportunity in more detail.
