Lead Production Operator job in Oman
Our client is a major Oil & Gas exploration and production company. They are currently looking to recruit a Lead Production Operator based in Oman.
As Lead Production Operator you will be required to operate integrated production systems, ensuring that production and environmental targets are realised in a safe and efficient manner whilst maintaining operational integrity of the assets as well as providing coaching to staff ensuring that they receive an accelerated on job training exposure to enable the staff to attain the required competence level as quickly as possible.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Execute Production Operations activities in accordance with daily routines, maintenance schedule/plan
- Execute well testing as per plan
- Troubleshoot abnormalities arising in the plant and oilfield equipment
- Execute all assigned work tasks in line with agreed plant operating philosophies
- Start up/Shut down of oil gathering station/gas plant/water plant
- Report to Production Supervisor on status of daily activities and work progress
- Assist Production Supervisor to control and plan work activities
- Interface with other service department staff to coordinate breakdown or routine maintenance work on wells, facilities and plants
- Area authority for Permit-to-Work activities within area of responsibility - as licensed and advised by Supervisor
- Where applicable, provide input into the 90 day and 14 day planning cycles
- Take effective action to control emergencies and contain hazards within area of responsibility
- Maintain and update records on all lock open/lock close valves
- Maintain and update records on all override keys
Qualifications and experience required:
- A minimum of HND/HNC qualification in engineering
- Extensive experience as a Production Operator with level -3 competency
- Preferably to have worked as an on-the-job trainer/coach with the relevant trainers qualification or certificates (Verifier/assessors qualifications)
- Good record of interpersonal skills
