Job Description
Our Client has a vacancy for a Lead Planning Engineer, based in Aberdeen. This is a contract position.

As Lead Planning Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
Understand the corporate and contract specific planning procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
Study and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedules.
Work with all relevant project and discipline personnel, pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedule.
Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant scheduling software
Ensure compliance with the development of sensible and achievable logic linked networks with single start and single finish activities.
Prepare, review and ensure the timely issue of all relevant reports.
Verbally and in writing advise project and discipline personnel on impacts, contingencies and generally guide the scopes towards the earliest possible finish
Support and provide guidance to all planning personnel.
Supervise principal, senior, junior and assistant personnel.
Train and encourage business services graduates in the completion of their planning learning objectives.
Liaise with cost discipline to ensure that continuity across the business services function
Ensure that the proper mechanisms are in place for the accurate capture and recording of change including impact assessment.
Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
Carry out audits to ensure compliance with relevant planning procedure

Qualifications, experience and skills required for the Lead Planning Engineer role:
Degree or equivalent.
Excellent knowledge of project management software, e.g. Primavera, Microsoft Project.
Good understanding of project management principals and techniques.
Good general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control.
Considerable experience in a project controls role.
High degree of computer literacy.
Skilled in the supervision of project controls personnel.

Personal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work unsupervised as part of a team.
Able to supervise and direct others.
Able to work to tight deadlines.
Liaise with external customers at a high level.
