Key Responsibilities
* The production, checking and approval of detailed drawings for OHL designers
* Discharging the responsibilities of the Designer under the CDM regulations
* The preparation, checking and submission of DID, CTQ and phrase reports
* Liaison with the client/consultant on design issues
* Production and checking of all design tender information prior to submission
* Liaisons with construction/site management to ensure design interpretations are correct at every stage of the project life
* The management of the design process under the various contract strategies
* The updating of the design programmes for the duration of the project life
* The review of method statements/risk assessments and the production checking of CDS documents
* The development of new industry software
* The enhancement of developing engineers and technicians through mentoring
Knowledge / Experience
* Minimum of HNC (or equivalent).
* BSc/BEng in Structural/Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
* Substantial experience in the OHL Transmission industry.
* TP141A authorised in accordance with National Grid Transmission Procedures
* Must have an understanding of the latest OHL design practices and standards
* Knowledge of CAD software systems
* Must have an understanding of site practices, which should include foundation setting out/construction, structure assembly/erections, conductor erection and temporary works.
