LEAD ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - PERMANENT - LONDON
Our Client, a contractor for the Power generation industry is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with previous power engineering experience on a power station, to be based in their London offices to work on various projects in Nigeria.
Qualifications/Experience:
· Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and/or have considerable practical experience in power station engineering;
· An awareness of the commercial aspect of a power generation business is also desirable;
· Experience of large combustion rotating plant, familiar with quality assurance, planning, finance, design and commissioning as applied to the projects;
· Experience of front-end engineering development (FEED) in the Power Generation industry; Ability to demonstrate a track of record in engineering design to projects leading to successful procurement, construction and commissioning;
· Experience of recruiting and building a team/department, fit for purpose with continued development of staff training;
· Basic knowledge of CAD is required;
· Able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the various equipments that constitute a Thermal Power plant and also display good understanding of their inter-relationship in order to meet the customers required performance;
· A good team player with an imaginative, proactive approach with strong interpersonal skills will be required;
· Willing to travel both in the country and abroad and must be eligible to live & work in the UK;
Job Scope:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Lead Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support to major clients. The ideal candidate should have experience in design, construction, commissioning and/or the operation of Gas Turbine power generation plant. The candidate will join to a new team of Engineers based in our Clients London office working in the start up of Power stations in Nigeria.
Main Job Function:
· Prepare and present technical tendering documents for new large-scale plant projects to customers including commercial information wherever necessary;
· Interpret designs, including P&IDs, perform all engineering calculations, examine specifications, expedite and process engineering changes;
· Responsible for the evaluation of manufactures technical documentation;
· Check and control contract drawings for accuracy of dimension and detail, and manage their subsequent delivery/approval with customers;
· Ensure effective liaison within the Engineering group to build and maintain consistently high engineering standards;
· Development of plant concept and required systems in order for plant to meet the customers required performance/function;
· Carry out other duties that may be required to meet the developing needs of our team and the business;
· Any other ad hoc duty according to the business requirement;
Salary: Circa of £50-£60k depending on skills and capabilities plus competitive benefits
