Job Description

Our Client has a vacancy for a Lead E&I Engineer.  This is a contract position based in Stavanger Norway. 


As Lead E&I Engineer you will be responsible for the direction and coordination of the electrical and instrument engineering design aspects of the facilities.  This will focus on the design intergration and safe operation of the facilities.


Responsibilities will include:
Apply corporate and local Health Safety Security and Environmental policies and regulations on project activities.
Show Safety Leadership and visible commitment to safety performance
Lead the Electrical and Instrument Engineering input to the project.
Oversee the Electrical and Instrument Engineering element of contractor performance on conceptual studies FEED and detailed design work. 
Ensure that project standards and functional specifications for electrical equipment and instrumentation are suitable. 
Support the review of concession requests relating to electrical equipment and instrumentation elements.
Undertake a review of previous lessons learned and the incorporation of relevant lessons learned into the design.
Establish the requirements for design deliverables relating to electrical equipment and instrumentation.
Review design deliverables and follow up on comments to ensure they are suitably incorporated.
Contribute to project risk workshops and follow up on engineering-related actions relating to risk response action plans.


Qualifications and experience required:
BSc/MSc/MEng degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer of an international institution would be advantageous.
Certified Responsible Electrical Engineer.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Substantial experience of Electrical and Instrument engineering in an exploration and production Facilities/Development Engineering environment with experience in offshore oil and gas production and processing facilities.
Norwegian oil and gas experience is required.
Experience in subsea and floating systems is preferred.
Certified Responsible Electrical Engineer Sakkyndig driftsleder and preferably also Certified Lead Control Engineer Automatiseringsleder.
Ability to manage and supervise contractors and demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness.
Knowledge of breadth and depth of process engineering and safety environmental and operational aspects of their work as needed to enable quality control of contractor technical work ensuring appropriate techniques and standards.
Good understanding of E&P surface facilities process through to operations and an understanding of interface requirements with subsurface disciplines and commercial to enable incorporation of multi-discipline results into the process engineering element of development studies and FEED work.
Team player mindset with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers and partners representatives to influence decisions or ways of working.
