Job Description
Swift Oil and Gas are currently recruiting for a Lead Cost Engineer on behalf of one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in Europe - an organisation that has shown impressive growth with a major focus on Africa.
To assist the Group Project Controls Manager to manage and allocate staff of the cost group to ensure effective support to the company's needs for Integrated Project Control Systems on Projects and Programmes
Take responsibility for the production of responsive and reliable performance analysis, JV partners and management project and status reports on all Projects and programmes
Initiate plans for the improvement of company systems and procedures for cost control and manage approved development work.
To operate and maintain detailed systems and written procedures for the groups work that will satisfy the requirement of quality accreditation and periodic audits
To coordinate the activities of the group in accordance with approved project or other plans and within prescribed budgets and staff levels
To prepare reports and recommendations to the Group Project Controls Manager regarding staffing levels and other essential resources requirements
Assist the Group Project Controls Manager to recruit, organise, train and motivate staff to perform assigned roles. Assess staff capabilities and provide feedback to Group Project Controls Manager
To assist with the preparation of the annual business plans and budgets
To maintain historical records and data against which trends may be measured and estimates developed
Initiate the development and use of improved tools and methods for project cost administration and control
To supervise the operation of the company's integrated project control systems and all other applications relevant to the cost functions
To prepare and make presentations to JV partners, management and project personnel on current project control methods and procedures
Any ad-hoc tasks as required by the Group Project Controls Manager
MUST BE DEGREE QUALIFIED IN A RELEVANT DISCIPLINE
Must be expert in cost engineering methodologies and highly conversant with estimating and planning
Must have experience of industry standard cost control systems such as Kildrummy, SAP, PRISM ,Cobra
Must have 15 years experience in cost control or cost estimating with at least 10 years spent in a similar role
Membership of a professional body such as ACostE is desirable
