Lead Completions Engineer - Drilling and Completions Department



Job Summary:



Provide Completion Engineering input to Exploration, Appraisal and Development well designs in compliance with D&C policy & standards, and industry regulations & best practice.

Establish and maintain technical integrity of completion designs.

Stand-in TA for Wells in Well Engineering Team Lead's absence.



Job Duties/Responsibilities:



Plan, prepare and implement completion design projects by allocating tasks to self and completion engineer direct reports.

User Rep for completion equipment supply contracts. Maintain appropriate stock levels for forward drilling programme whilst minimising total quantity & value of stock held on Company's books.

Prepare Technical Scope & Commercial Evaluation models for completion equipment & service contracts & tenders.

Design & select well components that satisfy the anticipated lifecycle requirements e.g. pressure, temperature & fluid service.

Identify requirement & scope for 3rd party studies pertaining to completion design and manage same (e.g. risk assessments, equipment qualification).

Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives and monitor effectiveness.

Review novel & emerging completion techniques and adopt as appropriate. Coordinate technology enhancements to improve completion quality and performance.

Prepare cost time estimates and reports for completion phase activities.

Liaise and interface between completion stakeholders and support services to ensure successful completion installation.

Represent Company D&C at Coventurer meetings and industry forums.



Qualifications/Training:



Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent (BEng minimum, MEng preferred).

Achieved certification in specific technical training (e.g. tubing stress analysis, downhole material selection, nodal analysis, perforating gun performance).



Knowledge/Skills/Experience:



Demonstrable and varied completion & production technology experience with development, appraisal and exploration wells, preferably with a major operator.

Knowledge of associated technical disciplines e.g. drilling engineering, well testing G&G, reservoir engineering, production facilities).

Experienced with well time and cost estimating, including probabilistic analysis.

Technical proficiency in software programmes such as MSExcel, Word, Powerpoint & Project.

Technical proficiency in technical software such as WellCat, Prosper, Completions Manager, SPAN, P1.

Knowledge of UK industry regulations relating to Oil & Gas Industry (e.g. DCR, Notifications & Consents).

Excellent presentation and report writing skills.

Effective relationship builder at all levels, internally & externally.
