Internal Auditor - Aberdeen.

Internal audit provides a rich development opportunity for individuals looking to understand how the company works right from the board through the management and operations to the customer.

The work will cover all aspects of the internal financial controls, corporate governance including how the company's underlying values, standards, processes and risks shape the business operations, decisions and ultimately the performance of the company. This will include conducting audits on controls, processes and business entities as well as supporting the company in their design of internal controls, whilst developing a deep understanding of the risks involved.

The role requires the jobholder to be accountable for the periodic assessment of risks and controls and the production of written reports expressing opinions on the effectiveness of the control environment, and agreeing cost effective solutions for matters raised in a wide range of business areas as allocated by the line manager.
Understanding and analysing the Group's business and associated risks/ regulatory requirements
Effective audit coverage through management of own work and teamwork to achieve Internal Audit Plan
The planning and delivering of control improvements through audits, agreeing action plans and monitoring progress against these action plans.
Establishing strong working relationships with regional and global management.
Implement best practice accounting policies and financial processes and controls at new businesses.
Effective and productive working relationships with all areas of the business
Quality of service to internal and external customers

Applicants should possess a high degree of business, commercial and risk awareness as well as practical experience.
Experience in using Microsoft office applications effectively and SAP knowledge useful but not essential.

Educated to degree level
Recognised accounting qualification (or part qualified) such as CA, ACCA, CIPFA or with IIA qualifications would be an advantage but not essential.
Continuing Professional Development.
Previous experience in internal audit beneficial but not essential.
Experience of SOX would be advantageous
Adaptable with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Based in Aberdeen with requirement to travel to all locations where the group has a permanent base and operates from which currently includes South America, USA, Norway, Australia, Singapore and Africa. Overseas travel estimated at 40%.
