Job Title: Instrument Technical Authority
Location: Algeria, 28/28 rotation (desert location)
Salary: To be advised
Duration: 2 - 3 years
Our Client: A major operator in the oil and gas industry.
The Role: Developing, maintaining and ensuring on-going compliance with systems and processes described within the JV procedures, standards and systems.
Monitoring plant operations to ensure parameters remain within the safe range of design.
Providing technical guidance on the application of codes and standards with respect to instrumentation engineering.
Approving and documenting any deviations from mandated codes, standards and project design criteria.
Approval authority for engineering documents within the instrument discipline.
Approval authority in area of expertise for Management of Change proposals.
Approval authority for equipment installation and functional testing with respect to instrument design requirements.
Coach, mentor and contribute to the professional development of national instrument/controls engineers.
Essential Qualifications / Skills: Applicants MUST have either an engineering degree from a recognised university or chartered status. Experience should include project design, construction, commissioning and front-line operations with a wide range of instrumentation systems and equipment including turbine driven gas compressors and their controls. Thorough knowledge of all gas processing operations, including dehydration, fractionation, acid gas treatment and compression processes. Must be fully competent in plant instrument systems including DCS, ESD, F&G, PLCs metering, SMART field instrumentation
Desirable Skills: Ability to speak French or Arabic an advantage.
