Our client is looking for an Assistant Instrument & Systems Engineer vacancy act ad the focal point for the implementation and maintenance of Fieldbus Technologies Texas instruments and Siemens S7 PLC systems. RESPONSIBILITIES Act as the focal point for the implementation and maintenance of Fieldbus technologies employed on the site Act as the focal point for maintaining Texas Instruments & Siemens S7 PLC controlled plant systems including fault diagnostic work minor modifications etc. Support the instrument technicians when fault finding on Fieldbus networked instrumentation such as pressure/temperature/flow transmitters. Work with the DCS Engineer to maintain the various plant DCS systems providing holiday cover etc. Deliver small instrument and systems improvement projects. Provide support to the plants for general instrumentation issues during periods of high workloads such as plant shutdowns. The roles require that the job holder has a minimum qualification of a HNC in Instrument & Control Engineering and will preferably have served a recognised 4 year apprenticeship as an Instrument Artificer. The successful candidate will have prior experience of fault finding on Texas Instruments Siemens S7 PLCs and Fieldbus networked systems obtained working in the chemicals or similar industry. Previous experience of ABB MOD300 and Delta V DCS systems would be an advantage as the successful candidate will be expected to support the DCS Engineer in maintaining the site DCS systems.
