HEAD OF DEPARTMENT - TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER
QATAR - PERMANENT
Our Client is a global engineering specialist solutions provider with over 10000 employees operating in 26 countries worldwide. It has provided specialist Engineering Procurement and Construction EPC services Construction and Technical Support Services to clients in the energy and resources sectors for more than 90 years. Our Client is listed on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange.
Due to continued growth in our operations our Client is seeking new personnel to join their project team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification:
· Candidate must have a industrial telecommunications background as opposed to I.T.
Industry Experience:
· Strong oil & gas experience upstream downstream product storage & movement utilities & offsite
· Must have experience of project engineering.
· Industrial telecommunications shall cover closed circuit television CCTV access control systems ACS public address general alarm PAGA perimeter intrusion detection PID etc.
· Communications shall cover fiber backbone infrastructure voice / data networks network switches radio TETRA communications rack design fire alarm systems etc.
General Experience:
· 15 years core engineering experience in a multidiscipline environment. Must have worked as TEL engineer / lead engineer and have MUST HAVE managed a TEL department for an Engineering organization.
Overseas Experience:
· Overseas experience essential Middle East preferred.
Background:
· EPC experience is essential. Excellent leadership ownership communication and presentation skills
· Experience of managing an eastern work team is essential.
RESPONSIBILITY:
· Functionally under engineering operations role. Sole responsibility for the management of the Telecommunications engineering department management & co-ordination of all TEL engineering work and department personnel.
· Ensure efficient TEL engineering support to all projects.
· All TEL inter-discipline co-ordination with other engineering departments. Planning & scheduling of work to meet deadlines. Work allocation to engineering personnel.
· Complete department quality control in line with company IMS requirements.
· Standardization and consistency of timely engineering output. Performance assessment of department personnel.
· Preparation and implementation of department working standards & procedures for efficient and effective work practices.
· Ensuring VALUE ADD is brought to all projects from an EPC perspective. I.e. SMART design / VALUE engineering.
Management:
· Will have to manage a team of approx 30/40 engineering staff.
Location:
· May include various trips for business meetings around M.E. or to site. However position is solely HQ based.
Training:
· Training and induction for existing & new staff will be a major part of role. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Reporting Line:
· Reports to Engineering Operations Manager
Salary: £80000 per annum basic salary 3 months bonus £20000
