HVAC Mechanical engineer job in UK
Our Client is a Globaloil & Gas EPC Contractor based in London. They are looking for HVAC Mechanical design Engineer for a long term position.
Role:
Provide engineering services for HVAC equipment and ducting, and where necessary active fire protection equipment.
Responsibilities:
To provide a focal point for knowledge/expertise in areas of competence as allocated by the Manager.
Carry out initial HVAC designs including D&IDs and input into 3D models.
Support bids for new work with detailed cost estimates.
Execute the delegated work schedule with limited supervision and supervise assigned personnel when appointed to Lead Engineering roles.
Give engineering assistance to Department personnel as necessary.
Engineer, and check, and where applicable, approve requisitions, specifications, bid summaries, technical recommendations, calculations, designs and drawings, etc., as required.
Review vendor drawings and documentation.
Assist with inspection of equipment as required.
Co-ordinate Discipline activities within HVAC Engineering with other company departments and liaise with vendors on specific task force assignments. Also co-ordinate outside consultants/agency activities with other company departments as necessary to meet project and proposal completion dates.
Administer and implement Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
Identify new equipment and develop improved techniques and methods of working to effect greater efficiency. Issue new data sheets, bid summaries, specifications, etc., and update existing specifications and documents to meet current developments.
Assist in the training/development of department personnel (as agreed with the Mechanical Discipline Manager).
Recommend improvements to company operating procedures.
To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.
Experience required:
In depth experience of the design of large HVAC plants to service multi room complexes
Experience of extreme climate conditions found in the Middle East and Arctic conditions
Ideally knowledge of offshore design requirements but this is not considered essential
General mechanical engineering back ground in order to understand PER and ATEX requirements
