Job Description

Purpose:
To monitor the contractors ongoing Lifting Operations at our various offshore worksites HUC Piles & Flares Civils & Trunklines to ensure best industry practices are being carried out and that the proper procedures are being followed. To make recommendations to HSE Management and other business units and contractors in respect to Lifting Operational issues. The position is empowered to cease activities at any work location if the operation is considered unsafe.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities: The job holder is responsible for: Ensuring that all cranes and loose lifting gear are audited to Republic of Kazakhstan legislation company standards or approved contractor standards whichever are most demanding in order to verify safe working conditions at the various locations where work is carried out offshore for the project. The auditing of vessels in the project marine fleet each year prior to those vessels going to work on the project. Ensuring all lifting equipment being used by the contract companies is visually inspected every 6 months by a competent person within their own organization or by an approved third party inspection company and that the colour code for that period is applied. Ensuring that the competency of contractors responsible persons is verified. Participating when necessary in incident investigations involving lifting operations. Interfacing with Republic of Kazakhstan Regulatory Agencies as required. Monitoring the various contracting companies personnel onsite to ensure best industry practices are being followed. Monitoring and advising the various contracting companies in their training programmes relating to Lifting Operations and their overall lifting operations.

Qualifications & Experience:
The job holder will have: Recognized qualifications in Lifting Operations. Qualified instructor in Rigging & Lifting and Safe Crane Operations. Minimum 10 years experience in rigging and lifting operations. Ability to advice in any remedial training that may be required in Rigging and Lifting. Able to give presentations to management on safe lifting operations. Offshore survival certificate and Offshore Medical clearance.


Required Competencies:
The job holder must have proven: The job holder must have good personal supervisory written and presentational skills.Be a Team Worker. Self Motivation. Understanding of HSE management principles and their application in the company. Working knowledge of all relevant regulations procedures and instructions. The ability to communicate effectively and work under minimum supervision. The ability to take on a pro-active role as part of a key project team member. Moderate oral Russian ability an advantage Ability for knowledge transfer and training to Kazak nationals.
