Our Client has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant based in Westhill Aberdeen. This is a contract position Maternity Leave Cover.

Main Activities:
Preparation of monthly management accounts for departments.
Preparation of monthly forecasts for departments including capex and cashflow forecasting.
Preparation of annual department budgets.
Consolidation of company management accounts incorporating other business units and quarterly preparation of group management to statutory accounts reconciliation.
Review of financial information with department managers and senior Finance Management.
Monitoring of pool labour and insurance recovery rates.
Responsible for UK and Canadian VAT returns and compliance including managing VAT audit visits.
Assisting Senior Financial Accountant in Quarterly Financial Reporting.
Supervision and development of department team to achieve department deliverables including staff appraisals and involvement in recruitment as required.
Supporting Financial Controller and Finance Manager in achieving wider Finance Department objectives including involvement in ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications
Essential:
Good general school qualifications at Higher Level / A Level.
Further education demonstrating aptitude in accountancy and/or finance - e.g. HND or Degree.

Preferred:
Qualified under one of the main Accountancy bodies preferred alternatively may suit part qualified and studying or someone qualified by experience.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge
Essential:
Good general background in accountancy demonstrating knowledge and experience of basic accounting principals applied in a business environment.
Experience of managing/supervising a small finance team to achieve wider business objectives.
Experience of dealing with business managers on finance issues.
Knowledge and experience of VAT.

Preferred:
Background in preparation of departmental management accounts.
