Job Description

Our Client has a vacancy for a Facility Engineer.  This is a contract position of 6 months to 1 year duration, based in North Slope, Alaska.  Candidates must be eligible to work in the USA.


Our Client is seeking a Facility Engineer to work at one of their major North Slope facilities.  You will be part of an on-site engineering team working closely with one or more other Plant Engineers at the facility.  Facility Engineering is focused on supporting ongoing operations within the North Slope facilities and plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and ensuring the continued operations and safety of our Client's plants and people. 


As Facility Engineer, you will work a rotation schedule of either one or two weeks on-site with an equivalent length of time off between North Slope rotations. 
 
Responsibilities:
Providing day to day Engineering and technical support to Operations.
Providing engineering support to assure compliance with Regulatory requirements.
Conducting debottlenecking and optimization studies in support of Operations.
Providing assitance to other engineers on such matters as 'peer' technical review,  assistance in progressing Management of Change (MOC) documentation, and assistance with resolution of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Action Items.
Functioning as Technical Lead for specified plant projects managed by the company's on-site Field Managed Projects group.


Deliverables:
The following is a list of deliverables that is anticipated to be delivered by the Facility Engineer:
MOC development.
Technical Reviews.
Field Verification.
Responding to the Operations Team Leader requests.


Qualifications and experience required:
Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Substantial experience in the Process Industry (either upstream, downstream, gas plants, or with Engineering and Construction Contractors).
A good understanding of the major unit operations associated wth upstream topsides engineering, particularly compression, separation, NGL recovery, gas dehydration, and gas re-injection.
Strong understanding of P&IDS, process instrumentation and controls, and general process/mechanical engineering principles.
Experienced in Process Safety Management (PSM) with emphasis on HAZOP, Mechanical Integrity, and Management of Change.
Experience with Process Simulation (ie. HYSYS) a plus.
Design experience in upstream production facilities and gas plants.
Personable, with strong interpersonal, communication and diversity skills.
Strong Health, Safety and Environemntal focus and commitment.
Ability to handle multipe tasks with minimal supervision.
Self motivated and able to work both independently and as a good team player.
Experience in Capital Value Processes (or similar) and familiarity with project execution a plus.
