Expeditor/Buyer job in UK
Our client is a global provider of services and engineering solutions and work in diverse environments offering the scale and scope to approach any territory or technical challenge. Employing over 20,000 personnel they operate in around 40 countries worldwide. They are curently looking to recruit an Expeditor/Buyer based in Aberdeen.
As Expeditor/Buyer your main responsibilities will include:
- Progress and manage the delivery of all assigned project equipment and materials, including all associated documentation, inline with project timescales
- Purchasing of project materials ensuring best value is achieved for company and clients whilst complying with all company and client policies and procedures
- Secure the deliver of all assigned project materials and equipment, including associated documentation, within project timescales
- Ensure accurate reporting of information to project team members
- Purchase designated equipment and materials inline with project timescales in accordance with project procedures
- Ensure that project objectives and milestones are achieved
- Assisting with the development of procurement strategy (S&P Plans)
- Compiling and issuing enquiries to the market place
- Negotiating price and commercial terms achieving demonstrable value in the procurement of equipment and materials
- Participating in Technical Bid Evaluations review
- Placing purchase orders for the supply of materials and equipment
- Liaising effectively and fostering relationships with suppliers and clients
- Promote good business ethics
- Maintaining purchase order records
- Closing out purchase orders, files and archiving documents
- Interface with suppliers for progressing materials, equipment and documentation
- Foster good relations with SCM team and third party suppliers
Qualifications and experience required:
- 3 Higher Grades or good standard education
- Procurement SVQ Level II (desirable)
- SAP Systems (desirable)
- PaMMs Systems (desirable)
- Buyer/Expeditor with proven experience in Oil and Gas projects
- Able to place purchase orders for engineering equipment and materials
- Good degree of computer literacy and use of procurement systems such as PaMMs and SAP
- Confident in expediting project purchase orders
- High level of accuracy in verification of all receipts and documentation of all projects
- Work with minimum supervision
- Competent at maintaining project reporting system
- Good problem solving skills
- Demonstrable understanding and adherence to project purchasing and expediting procedures
- Understanding and promotion of good business ethics
- Liaise with both internal and external personnel in a professional and helpful manner (eg vendors, buyers, engineering, document control and warehouse
- Understand SHEQ policy
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Commercial awareness
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
