Job Description
The company are one of the leading power generation companies in the UK with a portfolio of power generation assets producing a total output of over 10000MW. Their portfolio covers conventional fossil fuel onshore and offshore wind hydropower cogeneration and biomass forms of power generation. Due to an unprecedented increase in demand for project work within their Environmental Management Department they are looking to recruit an Environmental Specialist with aquatic impact experience to join the Environmental and Commercial Analysis team.
 
The team has a strong capability in water issues for power plant and they provide advice in this area to a wide range of business units within the company. The role includes interacting with project development teams to optimise plant design developing technical cases to assess the environmental impacts of existing and proposed power plant developments as well as the opportunity to help develop the companys thinking on strategic aquatic issues. The role includes responsibility for quantitative analysis both through quick response and more detailed analysis including mathematical and numerical modelling delivered either directly or through contractors.
 
You will be a degree holder and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the science of the aquatic environment and its relevance to power plant with the ability to carry out relevant quantitative analysis. You will have knowledge of the UK regulations for large projects and be familiar with the EPR permitting process.
