Environmental & Safety Officer - Norfolk.

The successful candidate will be involved in activities and take responsibility for ensuring continued certification of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System as part of the Groups established Integrated Management System.
It will also include performing the role of Health & Safety Officer for Geosurvey and Marine activities.

As Environmental Officer, your activities will include the managing and conducting of audits, maintaining, developing and implementing environmental management procedures as well as preparing and delivering environmental awareness training for all staff as part of the induction process. It will also involve advice and guidance into marketing tasks and responsibility of managing Group Registers.

As Safety Officer you will conduct safety audits, visit the fleet of vessels in port and manage on-site contractors. Again you will be taking part in induction training, DSE training and assessments, plus maintain and manage the corporate database. Another key aspect will be the completing of client pre-tender questionnaires.

The ideal person will be focused and dedicated on the practical application and delivery of safe practice and be an ambassador for the existing Health & Safety culture of the Group. You will also have experience in incident investigation, report writing and the ability to prepare procedures and deliver training.

You must be confident, knowledgeable of your subject and be able to communicate directives and information effectively to all staff. You should be persuasive and professional as well as flexible and positive. Your ability to perform strongly as an individual to achieve team objectives is paramount. You must be prepared to travel as required which will include occasional periods away from home.

You will be an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and hold a NEBOSH Certificate. It would be advantageous if you have performed a role as a Lead Environmental Auditor and/or have Marine, seagoing or offshore experience.
