Job Description
My Client in Angus is currently looking for an Engineering Manager to come in and run the department. They have recently gone through a development stage increasing in size which has led to this requirement. It is therefore a great time to get involved with the company and carve out a successful career with them.
The details of the role are listed below:
- To ensure subordinates are provided with adequate systems of work, facilities and appropriate support and direction.
- To assist in the preparation of detailed quotations for project related enquiries including the compilation of all relevant engineering, manufacturing and assembly/testing costs.
- To oversee design projects, ensuring that certified design packages are delivered according to scope of supply and within budget, informing the relevant project personnel of progress including problems encountered in achieving target dates and budgets.
- To coordinate all technical documentation requirements which are required for bid submission; such as drawings, schematics, data sheets, schedules, operational procedures etc.
- To support International engineering requirements as and when required.
- To assist with field surveys and attend client project meetings as and when required.
- To participate in design/operational reviews associated with project deliverables as and when required.
- To arrange Project Kick-Off meetings upon award of contract in a timely manner.
- To assess work schedules and ascertain the work scope in relation to time and cost and prioritise the short and long-term workload.
- To ensure current and applicable Legislative and compliance standards or documents are available and advise the companys personnel on project specific legislative requirements.
- To record correspondence/discussions associated with enquiry deliverables and that meeting minutes are taken and posted appropriately.
- To communicate any design changes relating to the project scope of supply to the appropriate Project Engineer / Coordinator in a timely manner in order to avoid any potential re-work.
- To ensure project enquiry product/material requirements have been formally requested and that applicable correspondence / quotations are filed appropriately.
- To arrange for project invoicing (engineering related only) to be submitted as and when agreed within work scope.
- To attend to department personnel issues on a day to day basis and ensuring all statutory requirements are adhered to.
- Continually seek ways to improve processes, systems, performance and/or ways of work i.e.: identify industry best practice.
- Follow companys developed QMS procedures and project management disciplines.
- Makes a positive contribution to the morale & well being of the immediate team & the wider company community.
The salary for this position will be around the £60K mark.
