Hays Energy are working in partnership with an international organisation called Iberdrola Engineering and Construction who have a major presence world-wide and have recently opened their first UK based office in Glasgow. We are currently seeking an Engineering Group Head for Plant Design. The role offers the chance to be part of a global organisation within an exciting and growing networks industry. The salary on offer is between 55000 and 65000 along with an excellent benefits package.
Job Specifications;
- Oversee all technical aspects of the Plant design team and the projects that they are involved in. This will mainly involve the construction of Transmission projects.
- To lead and manage a team of 25 professionally qualified engineers within HV Plant Design to deliver high quality innovative outputs of basic and detailed designs whilst achieving high standard of Health and Safety performance, technical excellence and standards of customer service.
- Direct responsibility for developing, assessing and providing complex value engineering in Plant Design to allow client to reduce asset lifecycle costs and better investment planning assumptions in the development of the annual project program.
- The safe delivery of quality engineering for all projects, to the satisfaction of internal and client requirements for the relevant discipline area.
- Manage customer service to ensure standards of service are met, customer expectations are delivered in line with OFGEM Requirements
- Strict technical adherence to regulation and clear designer responsibility under CDM adhering to all appropriate HAZOP and HAZID processes as well as responsibility for providing technical inputs into design review process and sign off. Candidate Specifications;
- Previous experience managing a design team specialising on Plant design (11KV-400KV)
- Have detailed design experience working on Plant design projects.
- Ideally be a chartered engineer or working towards a chartered status.
- Have expert knowledge of the UK Safety design Procedures in combination with H&S legislation requirements.
- Have a minimum of 10 years managing Networks teams within Plant Design.
- Preferably have a Post Graduate qualification (MSc, MBA) or a professional qualification in Engineering.
