Swift Oil and Gas Canada is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical/Instrument Planner for our client's on-site operation in Fort Saskatchewan. This is a contract position that is expected to run for 1 year with the option to extend depending on the needs of the project and will be based on the project site. Anticipated start date - April 2010

About the job...

PRINCIPAL TASKS:

Maintain an emphasis on safety, environment, strategic focus and reliability by individual personal leadership and by setting clear plan packages within the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Group

It will be organized into 3 phases up to and including the Operating State.

(1) Pre-Commissioning
* Work with maintenance lead, operations rep to review activity sheet and develop plan and schedule.
(2) Commissioning & Start UP
* Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow for the efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work.
* Assist in the development of preventative maintenance programs with focus on Instrumentation and Mechanical disciplines.
(3) Steady State Plant
* Work with respective area Maintenance Leads & Operations Leads to develop high quality job packages for maintenance team.
* Visit job sites to scope HSE requirements, method of execution, resource management

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Experienced Planner with 5-7 consecutive years with supporting trades background.
* Previous Planning/Scheduling experience involved in CMMS (central maintenance management systems). i.e. <web address removed> planning system and Primavera scheduling systems an asset.
* Strong computer skills within the MS Office environment. I.e. Excel, word, MS Project

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

* Instrumentation trade certificate.
* Dual certified as an Electrician an asset
