ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - PERMANENT - LONDON

Our Client, a contractor for the Power generation industry is seeking an Electrical Engineer with previous power engineering experience on a power station to be based in their London offices.

Qualifications/Experience:
· Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Have considerable practical experience in power station engineering.
· An awareness of the commercial aspect of a power generation business is also desirable
· Experience of large combustion rotating plant, familiar with quality assurance, planning, finance, design and commissioning as applied to the projects.
· Proven contract management skills are essential requirement for the position, ability to develop and apply new technologies;
· Manage interfaces with technical professionals outside your own skill base.
· Extensive experience of front-end development engineering in the Power Generation industry; Ability to demonstrate a track of record in engineering design to projects leading to successful procurement, construction and commissioning.
· Experienced in design (FEED) construction commissioning and/or operation of Gas Turbine power generation plant.
· Extensive experience with generator systems, high and low voltage system and earthing arrangements, testing methods and associated safe working practices.
· Experience of recruiting and building a team/department, fit for purpose with continued development of staff training.
· A good team player with an imaginative, proactive approach with strong interpersonal skills will be required. The range of responsibilities is wide and there will be a need to motivate and develop staff and support continuous improvement.
· Willing to travel both in the country and abroad and must be eligible to live & work in the UK.

Main Job Function:
· Managing, organisation & development of an engineering team.
· Prepare and present technical tendering documents for new projects to customers including commercial information wherever necessary.
· Interpret designs, including P&IDs, perform all engineering calculations, examine specifications, expedite and process engineering changes.
· Check and control contract drawings for accuracy of dimension and detail, and manage their subsequent delivery/approval with customers.
· Ensure effective liaison within the Engineering group to build and maintain consistently high engineering standards.
· Carry out other duties that may be required to meet the developing needs of our team and the business.

Salary: Circa of £45-£50k depending on skills and capabilities plus competitive benefits
