To ensure proper implementation of maintenance, modification, quality and troubleshooting activities on Electrical Control Systems (ECS). Ensure system functionality to control and monitor all electrical operations and motors inside the Refinery and improve reliability and continuity of the electrical power system.

MAIN ACTIVITIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in improving ECS reliability and availability through the implementation of Reliability Engineering principles, techniques and tools, such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Communicate with other Maintenance Divisions and the Operations Department in SATORP to develop and maintain ECS equipment maintenance and reliability strategies.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures related to ECS, taking into account the recommendations of manufactures and industrial best practices; in a way which minimises disruptions to the electrical service in Substations and Process Plants.
Manage modifications to the Electrical Control System (ECS) during overhaul or turnarounds. Implement modifications to ECS without any impact on service continuity or safety.
Provide technical expertise for ECS maintenance activities, standards and procedures. Assist in developing Predictive and Preventative Maintenance plans and procedures for all electrical equipment.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Divisions to assist in determining and predicting ECS equipment components life using appropriate reliability tools, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Mean time between failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), to ensure extended operating life of ECS equipment.
Facilitate investigations into ECS failures or incidents to identify root causes. Produce written reports documenting the failure, cause and preferred solution by which similar failures or incidents may be prevented.
Provide technical advice when required with regards to searching for and preparing new ECS equipment proposals, and review equipment specifications, documents and drawings.
Maintain and audit equipment and spare part inventory relating to the ECS. Minimise risk of service disruption to the DCS by ensuring all support resources are available, such as equipment, inventory.
Solve technical problems and provide/implement troubleshooting advice relating to the ECS; involve DCS Engineers to avoid repeat failures which trip motors and processes.
Help design plant modifications of a technical nature with the Electrical System.
Train ECS and Electrical Technicians to be familiar with the ECS up to, at least, first level maintenance level.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety and environmental policies and regulations at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Electrical Engineer.

Education Background:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
Six (6) years of experience in Refinery Electrical Control Systems (ECS), of which at least Two (2) years in a similar position.
