Our client is a leading provider to rotating machinery solutions to the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors across the Globe.

Due to their continued expansion they are looking for an experienced Trainer/Instructor to join the team.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Instructor, in close liaison with the Engineering Manager and Field Service Manager, has overall responsibility for the technical training of personnel and delegates from our clients customers.

- The Training Engineer handles and coordinates all training issues within the company and manages the Training Centre.
- Provision of theoretical and practical training for the Companys personnel.
- Provision of customer training for maintenance and operational personnel on steam turbines, centrifugal compressors as well as associated equipment.

NATURE OF THE JOB

Structure, coordinate, develop and provide training programs for the Companys employees and customers.
Handle customer training in association with the Engineering Manager (and Field Service Manager), This is a line position.
Manages the training centre. Promotes training and the other product lines. The same also relates to turbomachinery built by other OEMs.
Forms and leads team of trainers.

BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

- Mechanical engineering degree with at least 3 years field service experience or, alternatively, at least 10 years working experience in the petrochemical or similar industries.
- Must be familiar with the Companys product lines and be capable of handling the administrative aspects of the job.
- Ideally, the successful incumbent should have previous technical training experience or a strong aptitude in this area.
- Supervisory skills are needed in order to successfully lead engineers/representatives assigned to complement specific technical training. Also commercial flair is a must. Since the position requires extensive contacts within the company and a multi-cultural customer base, good communication abilities are essential
- Multi-lingual and a flexible outlook to cope with ever changing requirements.
- Must be willing to travel to remote locations such as desert camps and into developing nations.
- Tropical fitness is a must.
