Our Client has a vacancy for a Drilling Mechanical/Piping Engineer. This is a contract position, based in London.
As Drilling Mechanical/Piping Engineer, your responsibilities will include ensuring Drill Rig mechanical and piping delivery by contractor to the required standards. You will also act as drilling facilities mechanical/piping package sponsor during the purchase process, providing technical oversight of contractor's package engineer and assurance that appropriate standards are met.
Candidates will have substantial drilling facilities detailed engineering experience and must have an understanding of how drilling facilities work together when operating.
The Drilling Mechanical/Piping Engineer must have at least five years of drilling facilities detailed engineering experience and must have an understanding of how the drilling facilities work together when operating. Drilling facilities construction and commissioning experience is an additional benefit.
Responsibilities shall include, but not limited to:
Provide HSE leadership with regards inputs to design and vendor performance, and with regards behaviours in the office and at vendor sites.
Help to drive the Contractor engineering deliveries schedule for mechanical and piping disciplines such that they meet the project schedule.
Encourage the identification of opportunities to accelerate the schedule.
Ensure that all mechanical and piping design is in accordance with project specifications and relevant Standards.
Ensure that the required engineering processes are followed.
Ensure the technical integrity process and plan of reviews are in place.
Coordinate input to the design from relevant project TAs as required.
Liaise with drilling operations personnel to obtain their endorsement of the mechanical and piping aspects of the design, and their input to design development.
Participate in project forums, progress meetings and interface meetings with contractor and other delivery teams within the project as required.
Facilitate the relevant mechanical and piping engineering interfaces and project teams or contractors where appropriate, as per the requirements of the project interface management procedure.
Liaise with the project Integrity and Quality Management Engineer to arrange audits of the contractor's performance to ensure that the appropriate processes, procedures and standards are being applied during the execution of the contractor's work.
Attend the contractor's internal audits where appropriate.
Through PSCM, liaise with vendors to ensure their implementation of the appropriate engineering standards and specifications.
Act as the drilling facilities engineering team's mechanical and piping representative with vendors, attending and providing project input at kick-off and other similar meetings, factory acceptance tests, etc.
Inform the Drilling Facilities TL about all engineering matters that impact on Schedule and Cost.
Provide a weekly status and concern report on Engineering deliveries progress and completion achievement to Drilling Facilities TL.
